@sleepybisexual @illyBytes it's a term going back to the 90s-00s when people insensitively threw around the word "nazi" to refer to anyone who was unnecessarily strict about something

so people who got onto everyone's cases about grammar were grammar nazis. hall monitors in school were hall nazis. a seinfeld character who ran a soup stand and would refuse service if your order wasn't stated perfectly was called the soup nazi.
