post making fun of software licensing discourse@illyBytes I feel like it would work slightly better to replace "permissive" vs "copyleft" in the OP with "commercial" vs "noncommercial."
Copyleft is evil because it is complicated and so it gives more power to whomever can afford to hire the most lawyers.
Permissive licenses are evil because the thin distinction between public domain and permissively-licensed also gives more power to whomever can afford to hire the most lawyers.
Public-domain-dedication licenses are evil because they delegate all power to the state to legislate what exactly public domain means, thereby giving more power to whomever can bribe politicians the most.
