emerald 1025 is a rom hack fae really wants to make, and thinks about its design pretty often, so figured, may as well write some of faer notes in a document
it's likely never going to happen, but, eh, it's an idea that fae struggles to stop thinking about,,, it's stupid, but also, would be really cool
for faer the issue is that fae would love to move faer infrastructure away from nixos, so fae kinda doesn't want to add additional things that would necessitate adding things onto an infrastructure
(it's also why fae would love to move away from iceshrimp.net, frankly it's a pretty big blocker, fae thinks, unfortunately,,, but at the same time, its search is so nice,,,)
@sugar maybe fae could try to transition most of faer things to a quadlet, ive used quadlets like 3 times but god they feel so nice ⩾^>w<^⩽ being able to just treat them like sysd services, problem is quadlets on openrc how :p x3
@thing@illyBytes that's part of the issue, other parts is fae being annoyed at constant rebuilds of faer infrastructure, nix package manager needing a lot of ram, lack of llm policy, using nix with chimera linux being a very large hack that fae would like to get rid of as soon as possible, and nix package manager being outright vibecoded (it recently had a lot of claude contributions)

@thing@illyBytes lix is a hard fork of nix, so it shouldn't be affected by that issue
as for nixpkgs, fae is too exhausted to analyze that faerself, so won't provide you an answer (admittedly fae doesn't exactly care whether there is llm code or not, considering fae is planning to move away from nixos anyways)
