fae doesn't understand why sleep is so broken on faer gentoo installation sylveon_shocked

it keeps waking up after few seconds after suspending, and fae has no idea why,,,

faer guess is that it's because gentoo uses linux lts, and linux lts is fully slop,,,

hard to tell, fae has no idea how to debug that, and fae didn't have that issue with chimera linux

wiki.archlinux.org/title/Power_management/Wakeup_triggers mentions logi bolt receiver, but the thing is, disconnecting it doesn't help with the issue

it only happens when connected to the dock, however,,, hm,,,

okay, managed to solve it by installing newest version of linux kernel sylveon_uwu

was confused at first why the package manager isn't installing it despite faer unmasking it (newest version is considered a testing package, so it requires an explicit opt-in), but after searching for a bit, fae figured out that fae also needs to opt-in to
virtual/dist-kernel's testing versions
sys-kernel/gentoo-kernel-bin
virtual/dist-kernel

@sugar huh, im guessing that kernel version probably adds a delay before polling the logi receiver cus ive discovered my sleep and ssd crash issues were related to how sleep failed because my logi bolt receiver (and other mouse receivers ive used) just insta woke up my laptop after putting to sleep, my "hack" (which tbh should be a default on laptops) was to disable usb wake up for it lol
