social media is the only reason I am so good at programming today, if YT classifies as social media and it gets banned for children they lose a valuable source of information.
@luna thats the very point of banning everything for under-18s, to be able to monopolize their information landscape and keep them rid of outside knowledge and community, it's all about control by fascists who see themselves entitled to treating anyone young as a slave
@hsza@luna Child oppression is far too normalized: schools are more authoritarian environment than even prisons, children are treated as property of their parents, children are systemically kept from any kind of third space they could proliferate in and then shoo'd from the street as well. And now they are trying to ban them from the online sphere as well, unless tightly controlled by their parents, corporations, and the government. Children are human beings and should be treated as such, with the same amount of respect and rights!
@GLaDTheresCake@hsza@luna this is true, my shool basically was like a prison, fucking giant asphalt square with with potholes for some sport nets, that they called a "playground", i think i always hated walking on it cus how uneven it was, mostly only walked in the side of the very totally not a fucking prison, square, concret and asphalt grey and blue color scheme, school
