hardest part of cryptography. One of the principal distinguishing
features of PGP is its sophisticated key management.
The Government specifically recommends not using the weakest simplest mode for messages, the Electronic Codebook (ECB) mode. But they do recommend the stronger and more complex Cipher Feedback (CFB) or Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) modes. Unfortunately, most of the commercial encryption packages I’ve looked at use ECB mode.
