weird. I have a bunch of different tabs open, and switching between them is fine, EXCEPT for gmail & google chat, which causes a full-browser flash of white.

It's only those two, and in that direction.

it's also kinda painful. there's a reason I have all my sites set to dark mode and my screens set to minimum brightness

it also doesn't happen if I switch to another tab between the two.

So gmail->gchat = flash
but gmail->MDN->gchat = no flash

@rebane2001 @foone normally, if we were to sanely implement rendering in most browsers, this shouldnt be a very plausable explanation x3
