@illyBytes @LunaDragofelis @nyx activitypub could be (is being) gradually improved to take more modern approaches and reduce jank, the ecosystem is always evolving naturally so theres neither an immediate nor absolute need for something entirely new and incompatible to appear in this same niche

the user-facing stuff works really well yeah, unlike the likes of xmpp and matrix that are dumpster fires both inside and out, activitypub is not a dumpster fire out
