would a VPS with public IP be an OK enough replacement for Cloudflare DDNS and Cloudflare's IP hiding thing, and if yes, what software i need for this?
i'm not using Cloudflare at all, just want to protect myself from bad actors in the future
i had to switch to using my home IP directly because last time i used Tailscale for proxying my stuff hosted on Proxmox to a VPS, there was a very weird issue that was making all of my services very slow when accessing them publicly and the only workaround i could find was to stay on an older Linux kernel which potentially had multiple known vulnerabilities
@link it's just this incredibly cool project that, in practice, implements mesh-like networking making use of the OS' existing IPv6 support, which means you can bypass NATs over yggdrasil, and also proxy stuff like that over yggdrasil (i.e by using caddy and reverse proxying the yggdrasil IP into clearnet)
