so it turns out the latest "KDE Drama!!!1!1" is yet again a total nothingburger, perpetrated by the usual crowd of toxic Fedi assholes who can't conceptualise that "being wrong about something, then talking to people and changing your mind" is a normal human behaviour that does not make you Literally Hitler

@pup unless when they call my friend a brigader for collecting signatures and accuse someone of doxxing an actual nazi by posting their public, linked twitter account where they say slurs, banning the accuser and not the actual fucking nazi until a day later

i hope they improve but is their fault it has escalated

@illyBytes that's entirely valid. i don't entirely agree with him - but, like, he's still just A Person who's neither inherently permanently good nor inherently permanently evil.

i think "opinion on AI that I don't fully agree with but is at least overall on my side" plus "mishandled the situation" is, like, something to be disapproving of and express an opinion on, but not enough to instantly hit the "being an awful irredeemable person who loves fascism and gives peter thiel blowjobs" threshold, which is how I'm seeing a lot of people on here treat it, and that just... frustrates and exhausts me

like the guy who made a good UX talk, and like people took a screenshot of the part where he was badmouthing omarchy and spun it into kde being sponsored by them which is like straight up DISinfo 😭
