I guess guile is technically a language workbench of sorts? doc.guix.gnu.org/guile/latest/en/html_node/Compiler-Tower.html just the language switching bits and a basic REPL, not any of the editor bits that make it nice to use

I’m continuing the long emacs tradition of having never heard of a feature in guile before I do my emacs implementation

I’m not sure why I dislike guile so much. of all the lisps, emacs lisp and historical lisps included, guile just doesn’t sink into my brain like it should

it has a lot of too much and this is coming from someone who likes racket so much I’m cloning it

anyway it seems like guile is a guix project now? that feels like an upset

@zzt dont understand the last bit tbh, since like it seems from codeberg's contributor stats that guix devs are prominent guile devs, ludo is 4th biggest contributor, how is that an upset?

sorry for bothering

@illyBytes ah I didn’t look that deep, I’m mostly posting about how guile was supposed to be the gnu embeddable extension language everywhere and it was meant to make elisp obsolete in emacs, but now the official guile docs are hosted as part of guix so it feels like they’ve at least partially given up on it having wide appeal
