@alexia was this on Apple or Google mobile platforms? it should be possible to contact them and get a refund. to my understanding, exactly this thing happens so often that they have an excellent process for it and will issue refunds without much hassle.

@alexia yup, Google has this specific refund request reason (on this page). so, the money is probably recoverable!
