might be forking FreeBSD 13.0.0 for absolutely no reason other than to mess around with definitely pre-AI BSDs.

Let's see where it goes I guess.

turns out i need the fucking 3-4GB dvd image

the disc image doesn't work because FreeBSD don't serve the other 13.0 txzs I need properly anymore and they're all on
ftp-archive.freebsd.org I assume which I have no idea how to force the installer to use and I won't even try to do that

fuck sake FreeBSD

right, updated ports, ignored system support warnings, rebuilt pkg, pkg works now.

installed git, needed compile libidn2 myself from ports, now we have git.

holy shit, so FreeBSD 13 is still usable if you frankenstein it with newer ports.

hmm, the entire source in Git only takes 262 MiB. Shouldn't be bad if I ever upload to Codeberg.

I've put my bare FreeBSD 13 fork on Codeberg.

codeberg.org/NerdNextDoor/CoffeeBSD

and yes, AI will be obviously banned and 32-bit arch support will be kept. I love FreeBSD too much to leave it behind because of slop machines...

@illyBytes ooh, that's good then. maybe at some point I'll figure out how to build a bootable CoffeeBSD image and see if it boots. I'd assume it works because Zen 2 was introduced before FreeBSD 13.0 released, which CoffeeBSD is based on.
