@illyBytes I think it's just that nobody tried to make that argument in court Their argument has been tested in court 0 times, half the GPL is considered legally invalid by some legal experts, only the core of it (if you ship a GPL binary, provide relevant sources) has been proven in court
Random fun fact, I stumbled upon a LGPL license violation in a random Dell utility when REing it They static compile glibc, which the LGPL then requires them to provide sources as they ship a copy of glibc*
